The Face3D project
From Wellcome Project
The Face3D consortium has been set up to carry out research into the analysis of three-dimensional facial dysmorphology. The aim is to provide tools to extract important and potentially useful quantitative information on facial shape from three-dimensional images and to develop statistical models which allow this information to be analysed to identify effects of interest. These computational and statistical tools will be applied to two important applications areas in the characterization of the biological processes which underlie schizophrenia and in the quantitative assessment of the outcome of orthognathic surgery.
The partners in the project are:
- The University of Glasgow
- Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
- Dublin City University
- Institute of Technology, Tralee
- Mathematics
- University of Limerick
The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust.
We are currently recruiting to a postdoctoral research assistant post in Dublin. Details are available here. The closing date for applications is July 31st.
